Virtual production allowed the filmmakers to build dynamic, photorealistic environments using Sony’s Crystal LED display technology. This setup replaced the need for location shoots, immersing the cast in expansive digital landscapes while giving the crew full control over lighting, atmosphere, and real-time scene changes. By shooting with the Sony Burano and Venice cameras, Red Robin Films captured intricate details and cinematic depth, seamlessly integrating physical and virtual elements.
The story of Hestia follows a mother navigating a futuristic world as she prepares to say goodbye to her daughter. The virtual production stage became a canvas for these emotional transitions — shifting from sterile, high-tech interiors to sprawling cosmic landscapes at the touch of a button.
